  • Fresh crop Kenya, Kii

  • New arrival: Las Ranas, El Salvador

  • New Coffee: Wote, Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia

For the third year in a row we work with the private wet mill Wote in Yirgacheffe in southern Ethiopia. The coffee is grown in the micro region Gedeo in Yigracheffe, known for having some of the most complex and intense flavours in Yirgacheffe. The cherries are then processed at Wote by the producer Mr. Mergya and his around 100 employees. By the process station the river Wote runs and is the natural water source to the process station.  The coffee is delivered to Wote from about 700 smallholders in the surrounding area, as well as remote farmers, where the coffee is...

  • Barista Cup Presentations 2014

Alexander Ruas, Benjamin Norman and Linnéa Vannesjö are ready for the finals in Swedish Barista Cup 2014. Alexander went home victorious with a Natural Geisha from Panama.  Benjamin and Linnéa are presenting Drop Coffee’s philosophy in two induvidual presentations. Here are two short movies where they give some insight on the thoughts behind their presentations.  Previous World Barista Championship Perger/Kaminsky took up the fight last year for performing even grinding and more correct extractions. This has been a helping tool for us to ameliorate our roasting.  We believe in presenting each coffees full potential, something Linnéa showed the judges by...

  • Drop Coffee Espresso

  • The international coffee day and our work for a more sustainable trade

Coffee is one of the most important products in the world and the second most traded legal product after oil. The price we pay for the coffee affects thousands of people and their life. At Drop Coffee we choose to pay more for a higher quality. That will lead to a more sustainable production - both social and economical - specially for the producers. We know that when the people that produces the coffee, no matter how small their farm is, can invest in their production and not only survive from it, the world is a bit better and a...
