  • Los Andes is back - with two varietals!

It was that morning on a commute from US to Bolivia through El Salvador when we met up with our friend Ernesto Melendez for a coffee. This is when he told me that he had separated the SL28 to the Bourbon to us this year. This I've been asking and longing for the previous two years. Thank you, Ernesto!  In the video below Ernesto is presenting the two varietals at our last visit. He is telling the story of the farm and showing you how the plants are different, the cherries are different and some farming techniques he is applying at Los Andes. Ernesto...

  • A Swedish Brewers Cup presentation 2017, Thomas Savage

A couple of month ago our baristas competed in Brewers Cup and Barista competition. I generally encourage everyone at drop to compete, since I find competing questions what you do and why you do things, on a hands on practical level. Seeing the presentations from our baristas this year, I saw a questioning on a broader level than "why do you tamp as you do, stir the coffee before blooming..." etc. I personally understood more of why our baristas have chosen to work with coffee, raising the  meaning to work and present coffees you like and that you know how it's produced and traded. It's...

  • Kokkaffe - The Tias Kettle

About the product The steaped coffee, or "kokkaffe" as we call it in Swedish, brewing method is one of the original brewing methods in the Scandinavian coffee culture.  We grew up with the coffee steeped on the stove, before the electronically filter coffee brewers got into more of the homes. However, it's still being used in many of the Scandinavian homes and is almost always the brewing method when camping or going out in the nature.  The iconic design has proved to be timeless in its appearance. In Os Table Ware redesign of this icon, they have worked meticulously to preserve its historic beauty...
