We first bought coffee from Vicente Paye in 2015 and instantly felt it was the perfect fit for Drop Coffee. His Bolivian Caturra delivers a comforting, chocolatey profile with notes of cinnamon, plum, and ripe fruit—clean, crisp, and deeply satisfying.
Vicente’s farm is in Copacabana, nestled in Bolivia’s mountainous Caranavi region. Despite the challenges of the terrain, Vicente and his team consistently produce outstanding coffee. With nearly 40 years of experience, Vicente works with full respect for the land, using entirely organic methods. His focus is not only on quality but also on securing a sustainable future for the next generation—his children are actively involved, and the family continually renews the farm by planting new stock.
The farm is part of the Sol De La Mañana program, a seven-year training initiative that educates producers in every aspect of coffee farming—from nurseries and planting to pest prevention and financial planning. A visit to the Paye farm typically includes a game of football, coffee tasting, exploring their pristine nursery, and time with the kids, who are just as engaged in the process as the adults.
